Joining CompuServe via the CompuServe Membership Kit
The easiest way to sign up with CompuServe is to purchase a CompuServe Membership Kit. You can find these kits everywhere software is sold and even in some bookstores.
How can I obtain a CompuServe Membership Kit if can’t find one locally?
If you can’t find a CompuServe Membership Kit locally, you can order one directly from CompuServe by calling 1-800-524-3388. You can also order a CompuServe Membership Kit directly from CompuServe’s Web site, located at Visit Now
The CompuServe Membership Kit includes a copy of the CompuServe 3.0 software, instructions for setting up your account, a manual of CompuServe information, and an offer for free connect time. You’ll probably pay from $10 to $35 for the Membership Kit, depending on where you buy it. However, because installation entitles you to free connect time, the Kit virtually pays for itself!
The CompuServe Membership Kit gives you other software as well. At the time of this writing, the Membership Kit CD-ROM set con¬tained Adobe Acrobat, Xing/Stream works, Cyber Patrol, World Away, and Home Page Wizard—all programs that you would otherwise have to down¬load from CompuServe separately.
