The coronavirus pandemic forced technology companies to cancel public events planned for spring and summer 2020 or put them online. Microsof decided to go further – the corporation plans to conduct online all internal and public events until July 2021. About it writes The Verge .

According to the publication, such a decision by Microsoft executives means that in September an online conference for Microsoft Ignite developers will be held online. The presence of the corporation at the Taiwanese Computex 2020 exhibition, which was postponed to September due to the pandemic, will also be virtual. Microsoft will not be exhibiting at CES in Las Vegas next year and will host its Build online conference. In the same mode, this conference will be held this year. Finally, Microsoft canceled the Inspire conference planned for July and has not yet decided on the possibility of holding it using video communications.

Recall, most Microsoft employees now work from home. To organize their work and conduct various meetings and events in online mode, the company uses the Microsoft Teams service, designed for remote team work.

According to recent data, 1.36 million cases of a new type of coronavirus are registered in the world.
