CompuServe and e-mail

You can use several additional options when creating e-mail messages with CompuServe. The following are just a few:

  • Send a single message to a list of people. The easiest way to add multiple recipients is to click the Recipients button to display the Message Recipients dialog box (see Fig. 6.4). Fill in the name and address for each recipient and click Add To List. When the list at the bottom of the dialog box is complete, click OK.

When you start typing a recipient’s name in the Name box, if the name is in your Address Book (described in the next section), the program automatically fills in the Address box before you finish typing the name.

  • Select multiple recipients from your Address Book list. From the Message Recipients dialog box, click the Address Book button. Select the name(s) you want to add and click the OK button. (To select multiple names, hold down the Ctrl button while you click the names.)
  • Send your message exactly the way it appears on your screen. Usually, when you send a message, it’s okay to let the words wrap according to the size of the ecipient’s message window. However, if you’re sending information in a list or table, you’ll probably want it to retain the formatting you have on your screen. To do so, click the Options button to display the Set Mail Options dialog box (see Fig. 6.5). Select the Send exactly as shown option and click OK.
  • Flag your message as urgent. Click the Options button to display the Set Mail Options dialog box. Select the Indicate message is urgent option and click OK.

Request a return receipt. Click the Options button to display the Set Mail Options dialog box. Select the Notify me when message is received option and click OK. You will be notified (via e-mail) when the recipient receives your message.
